SQL MID

MID function is used to extract characters from a text field

SQL Syntax MID

SELECT MID (column, start, length) FROM table

'Column' is the column where you want to extract data from its value.
'Home' is the position from which to start extracting.
'Length' is the number of characters to be extracted. Failure to specify, will catch up to the end of the text field.

Example SQL MID

Given the following table 'orders'

idorderclientprice
1p1HARRY100
2p2CLARK300
3p3SMITH250

If we remove the first 3 characters of the values in column 'customer':

SELECT MID (client, 1, 3) FROM orders

The results will be:

client
HAR
CLA
SMI
